Shipping Policy

When shipping your instrument, it is essential that you purchase insurance for the replacement value of the instrument. In the unlikely event of damage/loss during shipping, your first course of action is to contact the shipping company and report the damage/loss, as the insurance paperwork will need to be completed.

The Balanced Scale makes every effort to ensure the safe arrival home of your instrument or product. This includes expert packing and furnishing the customer with tracking numbers.

All shipping and Customs expenses incurred shall be charged to the customer.

Selecting a Shipping Provider

In order to ensure your instrument reaches The Balanced Scale in a safe and timely manner, FedEx Air or Parcel Post are best.

DO NOT USE UPS, Purolator, DHL, or FedEx Ground. These companies accrue high custom and duty charges, which will be billed back to you.

When shipping an instrument for repair or return, use the applicable customs declaration information as follows:

  • Instrument being returned after trial/evaluation period. No commercial value.
  • Instrument being sent for warranty repair only. No commercial value.
  • Musical instrument accessories being returned after trial/evaluation period. No commercial value.
If your package arrives without the proper paperwork, The Balanced Scale reserves the right to refuse the shipment.
